Growing & Maintenance Tips for Thymus praecox 'Coccineus'

Creeping thyme is native to a hot, dry Mediterranean region and thrives in spots that are hot and dry. When first planting though make sure adequate moisture is available to establish plants. optimal growing environment Once established they are drought-resistant , but may need an occasional watering during a severe drought. They need an occasional shearing after it blooms so that the plant stays full and bushy. It does not need to be divided to stay healthy, but plants may need to be 'thinned' out to prevent their spread.
